A Tragic Reminder To Never Leave A Child Alone With A Dog

angry alaskan malamute

A child should never be left unsupervised with a dog. For any length of time. Period.

It’s a simple message but sometimes we all need reminding:

A SIX-DAY-OLD baby has died in the most horrific circumstances after being mauled by the family dog.

Police seized the family’s Alaskan malamute after the incident, in the village of Pontyberem in Camarthenshire, south Wales. It is understood that the baby’s father, Patric Mullane, had purchased the dog at the local pub.

Police were treating the death as a “tragic incident’’ and Ms John and Mr Mullane were not being treated as suspects, a spokesman said.”

Incidentally Alaskan malamute is a working breed which requires strong and consistent training and discipline – not for the beginner.

  1. So sad….prayers for that family. Good reminder with all the cute dog baby videos out there that you really have to know your dog and how it relates to the new baby before ever leaving it near the child.
