So what can be learned from the horrific London dog attack which resulted in five injured policemen?
The first is that dog are an extremely effective tool for criminals to interfere with the efforts of police. I doubt that any other booby trap or weapon could have been as effective at stopping a raid as that dog.
Following from that, it is incredible that Police officers seem to have so little training or preparation as to how to deal with dangerous, aggressive dogs.
Watching the video it is clear that the dog was attack trained. If so, why are’n the officers being taught simple techniques how to handle such dogs? The unfortunate officer in the video could have been used as an example of ‘what not to do’ in a dog safety class.
