All Too Frequent Scenario

The outcome is horrific and extreme but the scenario is all too predictable. Research shows that most dog attacks happen at the victim’s home and the dog is owner by the victim’s family:

Police say the dog attacked the little boy inside the family’s home in the Kingsland Area at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

The attack caused serious trauma to the child and he was rushed to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary but succumbed to his injuries later that night.

The dog, a husky, has been quarantined and a decision is being made by the family and Airdrie bylaw officers on what to do with the animal.

“The dog is a husky breed. There is no history whatsoever of any issue with this particular dog,” said Airdrie RCMP Inspector Tony Hamori.’
